API 510 eligibility is based on education + experience within the last 10 years, as outlined in API , Appendix B. Experience must involve pressure vessels and must be gained under an authorized inspection agency.
Important: As of the 10th Edition, National Board certification no longer substitutes for the API 510 exam.
